It consists of a large team structure where hierarchy and participation coexist. The principal, Hafeez Contractor sits at the helm, easily accessible and directly involved in each project. He remains the interface between the client and the Associate Architect, who owns the project responsibility. Likewise, each Associate Architect runs the assigned project to fruition by working with the AHC team of human resources, from specialists to interns and a huge design resorce data base which ensures efficiency in time and delivery.
AHC has grown from a modest 3-person firm in 1982 to having a team strength of over 600+ people comprising of architects, project managers, coordinators, urban designers, town planners, interior designers, site engineers, civil engineers, CAD operators, 3D visualizers, graphic designers, draughtsmen, clerical, technical support staff and student interns.
AHC's work spans the gamut of project possibilities in various types and formats. Private single family houses to apartment complexes and site planning of residential enclaves with social amenities.
Education, healthcare, cultural spaces, commercial use spaces from retail, malls, markets to corporate headquarters. Banking and financial institutions to office complexes and IT parks. Leisure and hospitality to cinemas.

Apart from built projects, AHC has invested in researching and conceptualizing ways in which to positively impact the urban environment with proposals for public spaces and slum redevelopment. For example, 'The Western Waterfront Development,' a scheme that attempts to rejuvenate the city's coastal edge by creating large, open, green spaces and streamlining the city's transport needs.
